We are looking for a Manager of Laboratory for our Good Samaritan Hospital team where excellence creates excellence.

The Manager of Laboratory is responsible for the activities, supervision, management and direction of the Laboratory Department in accordance with organizational and departmental philosophy and goals. This position will assist the Director in maintaining the highest degree of clinical and operational performance of the Department. The Manager is responsible for leadership of Laboratory personnel and / or students and functions as a resource for physicians, nursing staff and patients. The Manager will be responsible for the delivery of professional Laboratory care and provides leadership to staff. This position requires basic understanding and ability to utilize the Laboratory process, develop and enforce guidelines of medical plan of care and departmental policies, as well as assess patients in order to plan, intervene and evaluate care.

What qualifications you will need :

A.S. Degree or equivalent required. B.A. / B.S. Degree preferred.

Valid and active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist Generalist license or Clinical Microbiologist Scientist licensure from CDPH required

Minimum 1 year of progressive hospital laboratory management experience required

Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory experience in assigned technical areas required

Required : Operational understanding of the following areas - Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Blood Bank (Transfusion Services), Microbiology, and Urinalysis - to function as a Technical Supervisor

ASCP Certification strongly preferred

Experience with inspections, quality management, and regulatory bodies preferred (CLIA, CMS, Joint Commission) strongly preferred

Evidence of experience which defines competency in Laboratory, hospital and healthcare management

Evidence of experience in successful administration and leadership of organizational management programs
