Project Engineer – Life Science & Cleanroom Construction

📍 Philadelphia, PA

Metric is proud to be representing one of the largest cleanroom and life science construction firms in the United States , supporting the search for a driven Project Engineer to join their expanding team at their Philadelphia headquarters .

Our client is a nationally recognized leader in pharmaceutical, biotech, and advanced manufacturing construction , known for delivering technically complex, highly controlled environments. They’re growing rapidly and investing heavily in developing their next generation of project leaders.

About the Role

As a Project Engineer , you’ll play a key role supporting major cleanroom and life science builds across the U.S. You’ll work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure seamless project execution — from design coordination and procurement to quality control and documentation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career (1–3 years of experience) who’s eager to grow within a best-in-class construction organization known for innovation, precision, and career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of cleanroom, lab, and life science construction projects.
  • Assist in submittals, RFIs, change orders, and procurement tracking.
  • Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and field staff to maintain project schedules.
  • Perform site visits and ensure documentation meets GMP and cleanroom standards.
  • Utilize tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project to manage daily project documentation.
  • Participate in quality, safety, and commissioning activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant PM in commercial, industrial, or life science construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to GMP, pharmaceutical, or cleanroom construction is a plus, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management platforms preferred.
