Veteran volunteers have the honor of supporting a military veteran nearing end of life. Veteran volunteers share a special connection to our patients that only those with military experiences can offer. Veteran volunteers visit military veteran patients and engage in life review, companionship, and caregiver respite relief. They may also take part in special pinning ceremonies for veterans acknowledging their service and sacrifice.
Radiant Hospice provides services to our patients wherever they call home, whether it's a private residence or a skilled nursing facility, throughout San Diego County. Our mission is to give patients and family empowered care preserving dignity and providing comfort.
Volunteers DO NOT provide any hands-on care (i.e. changing an adult diaper, feeding patient, dispensing medications, etc.) you only provide companionship and socialization.
Radiant Hospice provides a comprehensive orientation as well as ongoing education and support. NO previous hospice experience is necessary!!
