In this key role, you will manage a team of two, spearheading AI initiatives and fostering a culture of growth and learning throughout the organization.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Oversee the development of predictive, prescriptive, and perceptive analytical models that support Retail strategy and operations.
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, nurturing their skills and fostering technical excellence.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, business teams, and external partners to turn complex data findings into actionable strategies.
- Contribute as a core member of the CDA AI Learning & Development team, shaping and delivering AI training across the organization.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities using AI-assisted tools like Snowflake Cortex and GitHub Copilot.
- Promote MLOps best practices for scalable, secure, and efficient model deployments.
- Stay updated on the latest AI / ML trends and tools, continuously assessing their effects on business performance.
WHO YOU ARE
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with 6 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, such as a master's degree with 4 years of experience, a Ph.D. with 1 year of experience, or 10 years' experience in data science.Degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Economics, or a related field is essential.Must reside within a commutable distance to our offices in Atlanta GA, Irvine CA, Burlington VT, or Draper UT and work a hybrid schedule of 2+ days in the office weekly.6+ years of hands-on experience in data science with a strong foundation in statistical modeling, machine learning, and AI capabilities.Demonstrated leadership experience in managing data science teams and cross-functional initiatives.A visionary leader capable of defining the future direction of our Decision Science practice.Strong proficiency in Python, including libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.Competence in utilizing GitHub Copilot and other GenAI tools for enhanced coding efficiency and productivity.Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical insights into business value.Expert knowledge of SQL, Python, Dataiku, and modern AI tools for model optimization and feature engineering.Experience with Jupyter Notebooks for exploratory analysis and reproducible workflows.Experience using Vertex AI Notebooks for scalable model development within Google Cloud services.Familiarity with cloud platforms (Snowflake, Azure, AWS) and data governance principles.Knowledge of ETL pipeline processes using APIs, FTP transfers, and curated views.Expertise in at least two of the following areas :
Statistics : GLMs, time series, clustering, PCA.Operations Research : Optimization, simulation, heuristics.Machine Learning : Supervised / unsupervised models, tuning, and deployment.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in retail analytics or consumer behavior modeling.Familiarity with agentic workflows and AI-enhanced productivity tools.Active participation in AI communities or organizational AI strategy initiatives.Experience with LangChain and LangGraph for developing AI agents and chatbots.Comfort using Power BI, Tableau Pulse, and Lucidchart for data visualization, reporting, and process mapping.Compensation for this role ranges from $119,600.00 to $199,400.00 annually, commensurate on factors including location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include incentives.
