About the Opportunity :

The role of Supply Chain Manager will manage and direct the production planning, scheduling, inventory and forecasting processes for the Wisconsin based manufacturing system. This individual is also responsible in ensuring the planning and scheduling decisions are in line with Business Unit strategies and will maximize profit for Ahlstrom.

Main Responsibilities :

  • Provides leadership in business S&OP (demand & production planning, production scheduling and inventory management) to a team of x FTE.
  • Owns the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and continuously further optimizes it in line with industry best practices.
  • Coordinates the sales forecasting process across BU’s and validates through analytical review.
  • Manages the Wisconsin plant system machine planning and scheduling, including the machine loading and cross plant programs. Ensures the necessary financial and trade-off analyses are done in order to maximize company profit.
  • Ensures schedules are optimized in way that fully load WI pulp mills to avoid lost pulp production capacity.
  • Ensures inventory levels are optimized and target levels met in collaboration with BU’s. Ensures business service level agreements are implemented effectively with full collaboration and alignment of Business Units. Ensure BUs service level targets are achieved for OTIF.
  • Manages processes to ensure supporting system accurate finished goods and work in process inventories in all plant and warehouse locations. Ensures finance processes and procedures are aligned and followed.
  • Ensure customer supply chain logistics support required service levels and optimize delivery mode truck / rail.
  • Ensure external warehouses are in alignment with BU strategy and systems and processes in place to accurate reflect inventory.
  • Oversees management of Product Data systems for item creation, manufacturing routes for grades and outsourcers are functional.
  • Responsible for training, coaching and developing members in the team for backup coverage and succession planning.

Required Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or other related discipline.
  • APICS – CPIM certification a plus
  • Lean – Green Belt (or higher) a plus
  • 5 – 7 years experience in a forecasting, manufacturing planning or demand planning role.
  • At least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in JDE and SAP ERP are a plus
