Certified Emergency Department Coder

A company is looking for a Hospital Emergency Department Coder who will review medical records and assign codes with accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Reviews emergency room medical records to assign ICD, CPT, HCPCS codes accurately

Meets and exceeds productivity and quality standards

Provides training to fellow staff to improve coding outcomes

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of ER coding experience in a hospital facility

ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, E / M experience required

High School Diploma or GED with completion of a coding certification program

Associates Degree in Health Information Management or similar preferred

Coding credential required from AHIMA / AAPC (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC)
