Logistics Coordinator

Wenger Corporation is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Owatonna, MN. As our Logistics Coordinator, you will contribute to Wenger Corporation's strategy to provide an exceptional customer experience by maintaining a consistent workflow, resolving carrier-related issues, and optimizing delivery costs and service times.
It'd be great if you have :
- 2-year or 4-year college degree
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience and knowledge of the transportation industry
- Demonstrated experience in a Transportation Management System (TMS)
- DOT compliance experience
What you will do on a typical day :
Determine mode and carrier selection of multimillion freight spend to select best cost carrier, achieve shipment profit targets for organization, and minimize transit time to customer.Recover Wenger losses due to shortages / damage as part of freight claims team.Analyze shipment costs for profitability performance and adjust approach accordingly.Resolve discrepancies in relation to tracking, freight quotes, and expediting.Support sales and / or customers in a professional manner when questions and concerns arise.Coordinate shipping and logistics duties to sustain the highest level of cost control and customer service for internal Wenger partners as well as customers.Coordinate with shipping dock personnel to maintain a consistent workflow and minimize overtime.Assist shipping dock personnel in resolving carrier related issues.Manage contract load schedule to optimize delivery cost and service times.Support Purchasing to ensure timely inbound deliveries to prevent scheduling disruptions.Review freight bills for accuracy and resolves discrepancies.Maintain records and reports related to area of responsibility.Coordinate labor for unloading Multi Stop Truckload shipments as needed.Recommend changes to the customer order schedule to meet delivery requirements.Define and implement continual process improvements to maximize performance, maintain highest customer service level possible, and enhance our competitive edge.Benefit offerings include :
