Job Title : Document Control Clerk

Department : Engineering

Reports To : Director of Engineering & Projects

Location : Houston, TX

FLSA Status : Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Document Control Clerk is an entry-level position that assists the Document Control Coordinator in the coordination, and submission of all project-related documentation for Piping Technology & Products (PT&P) and its subsidiaries, including U.S. Bellows, SWECO Fab, and Pipe Shields. This role ensures that all drawings, reports, and quality documentation comply with customer specifications, project timelines, and internal quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Documentation and Submittals

  • Manage daily submittals of drawings, procedures, and project-related documents for all customer purchase orders.
  • Coordinate document packages across multiple departments (Drafting, Engineering, and Quality Control) to ensure alignment with client requirements.
  • Review and verify all project documentation prior to submission to clients, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Upload and manage all client-facing documentation through designated client portals.
  • Track and record submittal status and responses to ensure timely resubmission or revisions when required.

Interdepartmental and Client Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with PT&P divisions (Bellows, SWECO Fab, and Pipe Shields) to ensure consistent document quality and formatting.
  • Communicate with clients regarding document submittals, status updates, and clarifications to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Requirements

    Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in document control or quality administration within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe PDF tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interfacing with engineers, clients, and managers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
