Job Description
Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Fiscal Affairs, is responsible for the overall administrative work for varying degrees of difficulty and with varying degrees of latitude of independent initiative and judgement in delivery of support service to the Budget Department. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing administrative support to the Budget department in areas of Financial Analysis, Expense Reimbursements, JOC Administration, and other related duties assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The Coordinating Manager Level A is charged with and responsible for:
- Acts as a liaison between the Finance Department and other administrative divisions in analyzing financial performance throughout the fiscal year that aligns with management objectives.
- Perform and/or monitor assigned departments in overall financial performance and provides support services if deemed appropriate.
- Perform tasks associated with Expense Reimbursement, LAZ Parking Financial Reconciliation, JOC Preparation, Financial Analysis & Projections, and other responsibilities assigned by the Director of Fiscal Affairs.
- As required, act as a liaison to several departments to clarify ambiguities and provide guidance to initiatives of the Finance Department.
- May supervise tasks related to the service/program and analyzes modifications and development of systems and procedures to improve departmental operations.
- Ensures compliance with current policies and procedures are followed.
- Prepare and publicize operational manuals and procedures if deemed appropriate.
- Plans, develops, and may conduct training programs to maintain proficiency of staff throughout the facility.
- Perform all other related duties in alignment with the mission, vision, values, and behavioral expectations of NYC Health + Hospitals
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling; and one (1) year of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment; or
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines listed in “1” above; and two(2)years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment; or
- A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience, in which each year of relevant training and/or experience can be substituted for 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university. However, all applicants must at least have a Bachelor’s degree or its educational equivalent.
Department Preferences
- Ability to understand processes of the Budget department and work within that context.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications used within the finance department such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and PeopleSoft.
- Identify administrative opportunities to optimize processes within the finance department and effectively communicate changes if deemed appropriate to Director of the department.
- Ability to act as an liaison to several departments across the facility in overall financial administration.
- Provide assistance to facility and Central Office personnel and gather information as required.
- Recognizes own limitations and seeks appropriate assistance as needed.
