Mechanical Project Engineer | Heavy Industrial Manufacturing | $100K–$125K + Bonus + Relocation
We are working with one of the largest and most advanced aluminum manufacturing facilities in North America, located in Cressona, PA, that is making major multi-million-dollar investments into new production lines and state-of-the-art equipment. The Opportunity
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will take ownership of capital equipment projects from concept through commissioning, while also serving as a critical support resource for plant operations and reliability initiatives. You'll be directly involved in installing and upgrading large extrusion presses, fabrication systems, and automation equipment, making a measurable impact on both short-term efficiency and long-term growth.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety—balancing design / layout work, project management, and hands-on troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems.
What You'll Do
- Lead mechanical CAPEX projects (weeks to 6+ months in duration), including design review, vendor management, installation, and commissioning.
- Support plant engineering and maintenance teams with equipment reliability, preventive maintenance strategies, and troubleshooting.
- Work with large, complex machinery including hydraulic presses, pneumatics, and structural assemblies.
- Provide technical guidance on equipment design / layouts using AutoCAD (or similar tools).
- Collaborate with a tight-knit engineering team and cross-functional plant leadership to drive continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
5+ years of mechanical project engineering experience in heavy industry / manufacturing.Hands-on background with hydraulics, presses, or other large / complex machinery.Strong project management skills with proven ability to take projects cradle-to-grave.Practical design / layout experience (AutoCAD or equivalent).Mechanical aptitude and curiosity—bonus points if you enjoy mechanical hobbies (engines, fabrication, rebuilds, etc.).Engineering degree (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or similar) but not required; P.E. license is a plus.Compensation & Benefits
