Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced Critical Care Advanced Practice Providers (NPs or PAs) for an ongoing locum opportunity at a large regional hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts .
This role offers a chance to join a dynamic hospitalist and ICU team delivering high-acuity inpatient care in a collaborative environment. Candidates should have strong procedural skills, thrive under pressure, and be comfortable managing critically ill patients alongside residents and attending physicians.

- Shift Options : 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM | 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM
- Credentialing : 120 days (temporary privileges in 30 days available)
Program & Team Structure
2 MDs / APPs during daytime coverageOvernight : APC works independently (12 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 AM) with resident support and MD backup by phoneIntensivist in-house until midnight, then on-callAverage census : 5–6 patients per APCNew admissions : 2 / day, 1 / nightOpen communication with hospitalist and surgical teamsClinical Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive management for critically ill surgical ICU patientsPerform central line placements (primary APC responsibility)Conduct patient assessments, diagnostic interpretations, and care planningRespond to codes alongside residents and hospital medicine teamCollaborate closely with intensivists, hospitalists, and residents for seamless care coordinationMaintain detailed and timely documentation in Cerner EMRCandidate Requirements
Licensure : Active and unrestricted Massachusetts NP or PA licenseCertifications : ACLS and BLS requiredExperience : Minimum 2 years of ICU or critical care experience requiredProcedures : Must be comfortable performing central lines independentlyCertification : NCCPA or national NP board certificationOther : Acute Care Certification preferred but not requiredWhy Rhino Medical
