About the role :

This position supports Shaft Manufacturing in our Access and Delivery Solution Assembly business in Maple Grove, MN. This position will provide daily support for products, processes, materials, and equipment and drive production goals (i.e., safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity). This individual will be required to routinely partner with cross-functional and cross-site teams (Production, Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Process Development, Supplier, etc.) to evaluate, troubleshoot and implement manufacturing processes within the business unit. This role will demonstrate commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

This role requires an onsite work mode. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Monitor performance of equipment, machines, and tools to correct equipment problems or identify issues within process that contribute to non-conforming parts, low yields, or product quality issues.
  • Performs troubleshooting on new and existing products / process problems as related to design, material, or processes.
  • Designs and coordinates standard engineering tests and experiments.
  • Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results.
  • Prepare standard reports / documents to communicate results to the technical community.
  • Identify, implement, and manage equipment requirements to support production goals.
  • Work collaboratively with divisional customer teams (R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Quality, etc.) to deliver on change management, process improvements, or business continuity projects.
  • Ability to be resilient in the face of setbacks.
  • Planappropriately for risks and respond positively to unforeseen problems.
  • Plan, organize and prioritize daily work to meet production and project goals.
  • Communicate effectively to an audience consisting of peers, operations management, and supporting divisions (R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Project Management, etc.)
  • Successfully contributes to business goals and product support by utilizing tools such as process capability studies, process development, Six Sigma and Value Improvement projects, report preparation and process / test documentation.

Required qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Materials Science or Chemical)
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Practical understanding of manufacturing problem solving, data analysis and production flow tools such as LEAN manufacturing.
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • Experience working in the medical device industry
  • Experience with polymers, sub-assemblies and / or thermal processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to develop and present ideas via visual communication methods
  • Experience with validation and qualification of equipment and processes

    Maximum Salary : $132000

    The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com-will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

    Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

    Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
