Overview

Underwriting Specialist

Markets, underwrites, and services moderate risks for an underwriting portfolio associated with a specified geographic area and / or producer / customer assignment.

This is a hybrid position. Candidates residing within 50 miles of Overland Park, KS office are required to report onsite twice a week. Please note this policy is subject to change.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites new and existing accounts in conformance with underwriting guidelines.
• Works independently on standard existing accounts.
• Focuses heavily on developing underwriting skills, and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Promotes Surety account submissions from assigned producers or territory via marketing efforts and underwrites new business submissions with assistance, as appropriate.
• Develops and executes field marketing plans, when assigned.
• Explains the Liberty Mutual Surety target accounts strategy to producers / customers and quickly identifies accounts that are inside and outside these guidelines.

Pay Philosophy : The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and / or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
