Pontchartrain Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Hospital Administrator to lead our experienced team through the hospital’s next phase of growth (and beyond) - including the integration of a new PIMS system, transitioning from paper charts, and the launch of an urgent care service expansion in 2026 .
This is a pivotal leadership role with clear growth potential . You’ll partner with our Director of Operations and a highly engaged, collaborative leadership team to managing strategic initiatives, strengthen operations, and drive growth – all within a people-first, mission driven organization.
Responsibilities :
- Leadership & Collaboration : Partner with our Director of Operations, Medical Director and department leads to mentor and support a cohesive, high-performing team. Assess current processes, identify gaps, and establish a long-term plan that fosters accountability, efficiency, and engagement.
- Operational Excellence : Oversee daily operations, scheduling, and compliance (OSHA, DEA, VMB). Guide the hospital through key initiatives—such as PIMS conversion, paperless transition , and the development and implementation of a sustainable wellness plan.
- Training & Development : Strengthen training protocols and collaborate with tech leadership to implement a robust in-house training program that supports team growth and retention.
- Strategic Growth : Partner with the Director of Operations, Medical Director, and business partners to prepare for urgent care expansion in 2026.
- Client Experience & Community Presence : Support marketing and outreach initiatives, working in tandem with our Client Service Manager to enhance client experience and promote community engagement.
- Financial Management : Monitor budgets, payroll, and KPIs to ensure efficient resource allocation and steady business growth. Support achievement of annual targets and long-term goals, including service expansions and operational structure.
Schedule, benefits and compensation
This is a full-time, salaried position and schedule flexibility is required based on business needs.

Minimum 3+ years of Veterinary Practice Management experience required.Current CVPM preferred (or pursuing the CVPM pathway).Experience as an RVT or Veterinary Assistant preferred.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.Proven experience leading teams in a veterinary or specialty medical environment (urgent care or ER background strongly preferred).Strategic thinker with a growth mindset and ability to manage complex projects.Efficient, compassionate, ethical, and consistent —a leader who builds trust and drives accountability.Experienced in workflow redesign, process improvement, and technology implementation .What makes Pontchartrain Animal Hospital Unique?
