Overview

Senior Associate, SALT Income Franchise - Consulting at KPMG US. The role focuses on helping clients understand, analyze, and respond to complex state and local tax opportunities and challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a national multi-disciplinary state income tax consulting team handling complex state tax issues, including organizational structure optimization, identifying refund opportunities, developing and delivering technology solutions, and general consulting matters.
  • Assist multinational companies with state tax return reviews focused on identifying and securing state income tax refunds.
  • Research and draft technical memoranda or slide decks on income, franchise, sales and use tax, and other state and local tax questions.
  • Build and manage client relationships and supervise, mentor, and develop associates.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience performing tax research, reviewing state income tax returns, and providing technical advice on multi-state income tax issues.
  • Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college / university; CPA, EA or JD / LLM preferred.
  • Ability to develop business and foster relationships both internally and with clients.
  • Excellent writing, compliance, communication, management and tax research skills.
  • Ability and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment.
