The Position
The AVP of Nursing Services will be responsible for overseeing strategic, operational, and quality initiatives for nursing operations within the WellStar Cobb Hospital. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the AVP will be responsible for developing, organizing, and providing ongoing leadership for the nursing division. The AVP of Nursing Services works in partnership with the site leaders to foster an interdisciplinary team approach to the overall delivery of care. This individual will partner with site nursing leaders to assess best-practice and opportunities to optimize to meet the needs of a large quaternary site. This leader will passionately demonstrate a commitment to visibility, actively engaging with communities and conducting rounds to drive continuous improvement in both patient and employee experiences. The AVP will be expected to increase quality, performance, and patient experience metrics. They will also work to build effective working relationships across service lines. Ideal candidates will be strong, visible leaders with excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence. They should also demonstrate a transformational and collaborative leadership approach. Previous experience working in a large, complex medical center is preferred. This leader will assist with facilitation of a robust shared governance environment to prepare for the Magnet journey.
Requirements
MSN is required. Active RN license is required. A minimum of 12+ years of nursing experience including a minimum of seven years of progressive operational leadership experience is required. Due to the patient volume, scope of services, and complexity of the patient acuity, a candidate with experience as a nursing executive in an Executive Director, VP, or Chief Nursing Officer role is strongly preferred.
