Job Description

Join CRB as an Electrical Engineer III specializing in architectural building design projects for the life sciences industry. In this role, youll lead the design and engineering of electrical systems for new buildsincluding power distribution (4160V, 480V, 240V, and 120V), lighting, grounding / bonding, and special systemswhile collaborating closely with architects and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, constructible solutions.

Youll manage multiple complex tasks, set priorities, and mentor junior team members while overseeing electrical scope and budgets for projects ranging from high-level conceptual designs to full detailed design and construction documentation. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact architectural projects using advanced tools like BIM and CAD platforms.

Core Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for building projects in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to ensure coordinated and constructible designs.
• Prepare calculations (power load, illumination, short circuit, voltage drop) and design documentation (one-line diagrams, plans, schedules, specifications).
• Coordinate with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers.
• Support construction activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reports.
• Manage electrical design budgets and direct work on small to medium-sized projects.
• Assist in proposal development under senior engineer guidance.
• Conduct site walks and field surveys to identify non-compliant conditions.
• Create internal training presentations on electrical design topics.
• Use BIM platforms and Microsoft Office to execute work.
• Lead quality assurance efforts and drive overall project quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Participate in professional development activities and client meetings.

Additional Information

The pay range for a candidate selected for this position who is based in Emeryville is typically $112,500-180,000. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. The selected candidates actual pay will be based on various factors, including but not limited to work location, qualifications, and relevant experience. In addition, CRB offers a total rewards package that includes comprehensive insurance coverage as well as the opportunity to participate in one or more annual incentive programs based on company and individual performance.
