Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts
LOCATION : Worcester, MA (with consideration for Holyoke, MA). Candidate must be able to travel regularly throughout central and western Massachusetts.

We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, playing a critical strategic role in the overall leadership of the organization, driving growth, managing risk, and maximizing financial performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute financial strategy to position the organization favorably in the economic climate and provide mitigating strategies to support business objectives.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Manage cash flow and investments to ensure financial stability.
- Manage financial related activities including accounting, payroll, data security, grant management, and compliance.
- Ensure financial transactions are timely and processed accurately.
- Foster a culture of excellence and accountability, developing and implementing best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, internal controls, project coordination, cross-team communication, efficient workflows and optimal use of technology.
- Ensure day-to-day operations proceed efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, regulations and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).Minimum of five years of experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role in a nonprofit environment. Public accounting audit experience preferred.Knowledge of fund accounting and related year-end net asset reconciliation.Thorough knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and risk management.Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.Excellent leadership and communication abilities with experience managing cross-functional teams.Proficiency in financial software and tools with a strong understanding of data-driven decision making. Excellent computer skills including thorough knowledge and use of MS Excel; experience with MIP (Abila) preferred.This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. The standard work week is a minimum of 35 hours, generally Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend work required. A 40-hour work week is not uncommon. The hiring pay range is $125,000 to $135,000 / year.
