  • Facility Maintenance Technician Company : Avalon International Aluminum Location : Tualatin, OR Job Summary : Avalon International Aluminum, a leading manufacturer of aluminum windows and doors, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of our production facilities.
  • The successful candidate will ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained work environment, managing all aspects of facilities maintenance, including electrical and mechanical systems, as well as overseeing the maintenance of industrial machinery and air tools.
  • Strong leadership skills, a solid background in facilities management, a commitment to OSHA safety standards, and the ability to maintain relationships with the leasing company that owns our buildings are essential for this role.

Duties :

  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all facilities, including industrial machinery such as hydraulic presses, CNC mills, powder coat paint guns, and smaller power tools like sanders, drills, and table saws.
  • Manage the maintenance and operation of air compressors and air tools, ensuring their efficient functioning and longevity.
  • Lead the maintenance team to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and effectively.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to minimize equipment downtime and reduce operational costs.
  • Create and maintain a tracking system for maintenance requirements and schedules, ensuring all equipment is serviced on time.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including OSHA requirements.
  • Collaborate with production and other departments to ensure that facilities meet the operational needs of all employees and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and manage budgets for facilities maintenance and repair projects, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to maintenance staff, ensuring they possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and awareness of OSHA safety standards to perform their duties effectively.
  • Outsource machine maintenance for issues beyond our level of maintenance and ensure high-quality services are delivered at competitive prices.
  • Ensure all lease-related maintenance and facility issues are handled promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure facility security and strict adherence to all safety and security protocols, including OSHA standards.

    • Experience :

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities management or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with industrial machinery, including maintenance of hydraulic presses, CNC mills, powder coat paint systems, and air tools.
  • Proven experience in managing maintenance teams and developing tracking systems for maintenance requirements and schedules.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Experience in developing and implementing maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as necessary.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Familiarity with industrial maintenance practices.
  • Experience in managing relationships with leasing companies or property management firms is a plus.
