Wild Onion Market is a community-owned food co-op dedicated to building a more sustainable and equitable local food system. We provide high-quality, responsibly sourced food while supporting local farmers, producers, and our neighborhood community.
We’re looking for a creative, organized, and community-minded Marketing Coordinator to help share our story, connect with our shoppers and owners, and highlight the incredible farmers and producers who make Wild Onion Market special.
Position Summary
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that engage our community and strengthen the Wild Onion Market brand. This includes creating engaging digital and print content, promoting events, and building relationships with local vendors and partners. This position offers flexible hours and a hybrid work schedule , with most work completed remotely and some in-store hours for coordination, content creation, and community engagement.
Qualifications
Required :
- Strong written and visual communication skills.
- Experience creating content for newsletters and social media.
- Basic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools).
- Highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Passion for community, food, and local producers.
Preferred :
Experience in marketing, communications, or community outreach (1–3 years).Familiarity with cooperative businesses or mission-driven organizations.Photography or short-form video experience a plus.Work Schedule & Environment
Flexible, part-time schedule (estimated 8 hours per week).Hybrid work environment : most work can be done remotely, with some in-store hours for meetings, photos, and event coordination.Occasional evening or weekend hours for events.Compensation & Benefits

Requirements : Key Responsibilities
Create and curate content for the weekly newsletter, highlighting store updates, seasonal produce, local vendors, and co-op news.Manage social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, etc.), including regular posting, engagement, and community interaction.Design and produce in-store signage and marketing materials to promote products, specials, and events.Curate stories and visuals featuring local farmers, producers, and community partners.Assist with special events , including planning, promotion, and day-of coordination.Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure consistent and effective brand messaging.Maintain the marketing calendar and coordinate content across multiple platforms.Track engagement metrics and help evaluate the effectiveness of marketing efforts.
