Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 educational institution in Decatur, AL is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support students with hearing impairments during the current school year. This contract position plays a critical role in facilitating munication, ensuring accessibility, and fostering an inclusive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation services to students, teachers, and staff during classroom instruction and school activities
• Collaborate with educators to support individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt munication strategies as needed
• Assist in promoting an inclusive and accessible educational setting for students with hearing impairments
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
• Attend relevant meetings and trainings to stay current with best practices in sign language interpretation and education support
