Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance cobol programs and applications on mainframes.
- Perform database design, development, and optimization using db2 on the mainframe platform.
- Manage and administer vsam datasets to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
- Create, modify, and debug jcl job control language for batch processing on mainframes.
- Provide support for mainframe cics (customer information control system) transactions and applications.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mainframe systems and applications.
- Implement best practices for mainframe software development and maintenance.
- Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning for mainframe resources.
- Proficiency in mainframe cobol programming language.
- Strong working knowledge of db2 for database design, development, and administration.
- Experience with vsam datasets management for storing and retrieving data on mainframes.
- Familiarity with jcl (job control language) scripting for batch processing.
- Handson expertise in mainframe cics (customer information control system).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Relevant certifications in Mainframe technologies are a plus.
