HII Unmanned Systems Buyer Position

HII Unmanned Systems is seeking an experienced Buyer to join our team here in Pocasset, MA! As our new Buyer, you will be responsible for procuring raw materials, components, tooling, equipment, and purchased services. You will plan and schedule purchases for material orders, and negotiate agreements with suppliers to attain acceptable quality, best price, and timely deliveries for the company. You will also maintain contact with all markets and vendors from which the company procures goods or services through personal contact, professional associations, and trade publications.

Your role will involve preparing vendor purchase orders, entering them into the computer, and emailing as required. You will issue and monitor company quotation requests for all material to be purchased, and work within the cost reduction program aimed at lowering overall purchased goods costs. You will use good independent judgment and work with little to no direction, maintain the Approved Suppliers files, and process approved requisitions in the ERP system. You will also source new suppliers based on policies and procedures for ISO 9001 : 2015 and government contract requirements. You will manage procurement processes in compliance with FAR / DFAR regulations and ensure all purchasing activities align with internal policies and procedures in support of CPSR audits.

You will procure, source, and negotiate the buying of machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and / or supplies necessary for the operation of an organization. You will compile and analyze statistical data to determine the feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. You will monitor the performance of suppliers, evaluate areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions, and track data to keep informed on price trends and market dynamics. You will negotiate with suppliers and analyze suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. You may prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.

We are looking for a candidate with 3 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 1 year relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience. Experience in purchasing for government contracts, APICS Certification, and Costpoint ERP experience are bonus points.

Physical requirements for this job will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
