Position Summary

The Power Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as the primary technical authority for all electrical power and distribution systems within a mission-critical data center environment. Reporting to the Data Center Manager, this role ensures the reliability, safety, and performance of grid, generator, and distribution systems across multiple facilities. The SME provides expert technical guidance to Salute’s operations and engineering teams, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and partners closely with clients to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient power infrastructure operations.

This is an on-site position located in Afton, TX, with relocation assistance available.

Salary : $122,004 - $152,505

Responsibilities

Technical Expertise & Program Leadership

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for all electrical power distribution, , and control systems across Salute-supported facilities.
• Oversee planned and unplanned maintenance for generators, switchgear, transformers, fuel systems, and electrical distribution equipment.
• Support cross-functional project teams with electrical subject matter expertise, including commissioning, upgrades, and retrofits.
• Interface with utility providers to coordinate interconnection requirements, power quality monitoring, and load coordination.
• Diagnose and resolve complex power faults, including breaker coordination, synchronization, load balancing, and protection settings.
• Lead and manage power system design and optimization projects from planning through implementation.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and operations teams to ensure integrated system performance and operational reliability.
• Advise customers on strategies to improve energy efficiency, system uptime, and asset longevity.
