Research Engineering Associate Manager
You will be a Research Engineering Associate Manager for our fast growing Materials Science Labs in Orlando, FL. Our labs support mission critical programs with cutting edge Metallurgy, Chemical Analysis, and Additive Manufacturing work. You will lead a team of individual contributors while also applying your own technical expertise to advance lab capabilities.
As the technical manager you will guide lab strategy, define processes, and ensure successful execution of test programs. You will partner with engineering, program, and procurement teams to deliver high quality results on schedule and within budget, while mentoring your staff to expand their expertise. Your responsibilities will include :
- Provide technical direction and enforce standard processes and tools that meet program requirements.
- Develop lab area specifications, configure test setups, and create detailed task schedules.
- Oversee test planning, execution, and post processing, delivering clear methods, specifications, and analysis reports.
- Drive technical growth by assessing skill gaps, planning training, and mentoring team members.
- Manage day to day lab operations, including cost control, schedule tracking, contract compliance, and overall program execution.
- Lead capital equipment procurements, budget planning, and performance monitoring.
- Coordinate proposal development and capture activities for new business opportunities.
- Direct all program phases-from inception through completion-including recruitment, selection, training, performance assessments, work assignments, salary planning, and recognition / disciplinary actions.

Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in : Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical degree, with 5+ years of related experience.Experience with development, research, and integration of mission systems, testing, and / or engineering.Technical expertise and hands on lab experience in Metallurgy, Chemical Analysis, and / or Additive Manufacturing.Experience in project management with ability to effectively lead a team to accomplish critical strategic objectives utilizing appropriate methodology and techniquesEngineering team lead experience including task planning, budget management, subcontract management and / or employee development and mentoringDesired Skills :
Experience managing lab facilities.Program management experience and managing complex technology development programs, transition to production, and production programs.Ability to communicate across multiple disciplines to provide leadership and vision for the lab organization.Ability to engage and build relationship with peers, customers, and critical stakeholders.Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Assigning work, developing employee careers, and offering ongoing feedback.Coordinating employee recruitment, selection, and training.Conducting performance assessments, salary planning, and recognition / disciplinary actions.Current Secret ClearanceOther Important Information You Should Know :
