JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Overview
As a RESTORATION CONTENTS and FIRE CREW CHIEF, you will be leading crews to perform personal property (contents) services and fire-smoke structure cleaning on projects in residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional settings. The role is among the most crucial in our organization as you will be the face of the company leading technicians and helping serve our customers by restoring their homes and businesses in critical time of need. You must be able to produce jobs for contents packing, moving, storage, warehousing, cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing; ability to produce jobs for fire-smoke structure cleaning and deodorization. You will be responsible for supervising technician(s) to start and complete the project from start to finish, and prepare and carefully review documentation to include notes, photos and documents according to company policies and procedures; ensuring safety and operational standards are being followed and met during active jobs. You also must be able to explain processes used to complete active jobs and next steps to resolution in person to customers.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and run a contents and / or structure cleaning crewAbility to drive company vehicles such as cargo vans, moving vans, moving trucks, etc.Contents packing, inventorying, disassembling, reassembling, loading, chain of custody, transport, and storage warehousingAssess contents damages for salvageabilityContents total loss inventoryingFire-Smoke damage cleaning, deodorization, and air scrubbing services (contents and structure)Removing and disposing of debrisAbility to lift a minimum of 50-70 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistanceConduct vehicle safety and maintenance inspectionsMaintaining vehicles in a clean, serviceable conditionStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong problem solving and customer service skillsMust be able to prioritize activities and meet deadlinesExperience with entering data using a tablet or mobile phoneReport to work on time in a clean, complete uniformEnsure safety standards are being followed during all active jobsRead and follow product label usage instructionsKnowledge of disaster restoration industryRetrieves work orders, ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are loaded on truck needed for job, arrives to work siteCompletes assigned jobs according to company processes and carrier standards, maintains quality control, manages technician(s) assigned to jobExplains processes used to complete active jobs and next steps to resolution in person to customers using printed materials as a guideInterfaces with adjusters in person, over the phone, and virtually to resolve issues and answer questions about the lossResolves issues with customers communicates customer issues, daily job activities with key company staffPrepares and or reviews documentation to include notes, photos and have documents signed by customer according to company policies using software to ensure reimbursement from insurance companiesMay train new technicians or key operational team membersInventory and load the work vehicle with equipment, products, and supplies needed for each project.Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and clean equipment appearance.Leave jobsite with a clean and orderly appearance.Perform production processes following company production guidelines per work order per crew lead directions.Ensure clear two-way communication with crew, office, and especially regarding customer needs and concerns.Perform end-of-day / end-of-job cleanup and breakdown. High school graduate or equivalentValid Drivers' License and satisfactory driving recordGood verbal and written communication skillsBasic math skillsKnowledge of contents and fire-smoke restoration best practicesRole models customer service expectations with homeowners, adjusters, vendors etc.Proficient with using an iPhone and / or iPadMust be able to prioritize activities and meet deadlinesExperience in training and supervising othersStrong problem-solving skillsCommunicates customer issues, job activities with key company staffAbility to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable lawAbility to exhibit a high attention to detail ensuring the highest quality of workmanship throughout restoration projects.Ability to perform contents water and fire cleaning and deodorization tasks.Understand and execute work orders in a timely and professional manner.Ability to operate efficiently with minimum supervision.Ability to provide crew leaders and company management with timely and accurate information related to the progress and status of projects.Able to participate in the on-call rotation (we are an emergency service)Preferred, but not required
Certifications are preferred, but not required :FSRT – Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician
OCT – Odor Control Technician

Incumbent must be prepared to :
Move up to 70 pounds often, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. $18-$23 per hour depending on experience, PTO, Holidays, medical, dental, and vision benefits
