Job descriptionMaintain a reasonable level of good behavior by the children on the bus, minivan, van or car. Effectively enforce school bus safety rules by making sure students remain in their seats, do not harm themselves or other students, do not eat on the bus or violate other safety regulations. Recognize dangerous situations that would affect the safety of the children and report to the bus driver immediately. After the end of each school run, assist the driver in performing a spot inspection to make sure all children are off the bus. Assist in the buckling of children, or other safety equipment, as outlined by safety laws. Assist in the evacuation of children off the vehicle during emergency situations. Assist the driver with directions as defined by a predetermined route sheet. 18+ years old. Pass a background check. Pass a drug test.

DATTCO is hiring School Bus Monitors for our new location in Smithfield, RI. In this role, you will play a vital role in your community by ensuring that our kids get to school safely every day. DATTCO is a third-generation, family-owned school transportation company that serves 30 school districts throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island. Our 2,000 employees transport over 140,000 students to and from school every year.
