We are currently looking for a Construction Project Engineer to join our team.
Overview
The Project Engineer plays a key role in supporting the successful execution of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This position provides both technical and administrative support to the project management and field teams, ensuring efficient communication, document control, and coordination among all project stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage project documentation including contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
- Track project progress, schedules, and deliverables; assist with updates and reporting.
- Coordinate communication between owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field staff.
- Support permitting, safety documentation, and compliance tracking.
- Assist with billing processes, pay applications, and cost tracking.
- Organize and maintain accurate digital and physical project files for easy retrieval and audit readiness.
- Review drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and constructability.
- Participate in jobsite coordination meetings; prepare meeting notes and follow-up action items.
- Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in monitoring field progress and resolving technical issues.
- Coordinate procurement and delivery of materials and equipment to meet schedule milestones.
- Assist in subcontractor buyout, scope review, and cost comparison.
- Contribute to project closeout activities, including punch lists, as-builts, and warranty documentation.
Knowledge & Skills
Degree in construction or equivalent experience with a solid understanding of the industry2–5 years of experience in commercial construction, ideally in a project engineering or coordination capacity.Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people simultaneously.Quick thinking, motivated individual willing to learn our business and our clients.Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints.Familiar with value engineering a set of construction documentsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).Experienced in construction-specific software (e.g., Redteam, Microsoft Project, Excel, Smartsheets, Bluebeam, Procore, PlanGrid) to effectively organize and manage the project process.Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract administration.Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities.General construction knowledge.Travel : 25%Ability to lift 50 lbs.Work Details
