About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of Med / Surg experience required; first-time travelers with sufficient experience will be accepted.

License : Registered Nurse License required.

Certifications : BLS certification required.

Must-Have :

Med / Surg experience

Telemetry experience with remote monitoring

Knowledge of IV insulin protocol

Colostomy care experience

Feeding tube care and management experience

Pre and post hemodialysis care experience

Experience with renal failure management

Ability to access ports

Blood product administration skills

Central line blood draw skills

Peripheral line care and management experience

PICC line management experience

Starting IVs capabilities

Heparin and insulin administration experience

CVA pre and post neuro surgery experience

Total joint replacements knowledge

Surgical drains management experience

Chest tube management skills

Nasal cannula and oral suctioning knowledge

Oxygen management experience

Tracheostomy management skills

Description :

This is a Medical / Surgical unit with 23 beds.

The patient-to-nurse ratio is approximately 1 : 6-7.

Weekend shifts are required every other week or less.

Documentation will be done using the EPIC system.

The position includes responsibilities in monitoring and managing various patient conditions, performing procedures, and collaborating with healthcare teams.

Essential skills include a strong foundation in medical-surgical nursing.

The role will require effective communication with patients and families.

Nurses will participate in care plans and support treatments.

Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the unit is essential.
