Salary : $100,000 DOB

SUMMARY

Highly analytical and detail-oriented Accounting Manager with a strong background in Cost Accounting. Perform Work Order analysis to review performance, material costs, labor costs, and overhead allocation. Identify cost drivers, validate gross profit accuracy. Work closely with operations and ERP Support (Global Shop Solutions) to improve margin performance and accuracy of Financial Statements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following. Other duties may be assigned)

Cost Analysis : Perform detailed cost analysis of Work Orders, ensuring accurate capture of material, labor, and overhead costs. Track and reconcile variances between estimated and actual costs; provide root cause analysis. Ensure accounting data integrity, especially related to job costing and cost allocation methodologies.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting : Developing budgets and forecasts based on cost data analysis, including preparing budget forecasts, developing cost-control systems, monitoring expenses, and implementing cost-saving measures, particularly around cost trends and product line profitability.
  • Inventory Management : Reconcile inventory and WIP accounts monthly, ensuring alignment with production activity. Track and analyze inventory levels, including inventory valuation and performing physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy. Plan, oversee and execute annual Physical Inventory at both facilities.
  • Gross Profit Tracking & Margin Reporting : Analyze gross profit by part, customer, and production run. Maintain rolling gross margin dashboards for ongoing visibility and KPI tracking.
  • Variance Analysis : Comparing job cost estimates to actual production costs and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Financial Reporting : Preparing regular reports on the companys financial performance, including profitability analysis, cost reports, and budget reports.
  • Internal Audits : Conducting regular internal cost audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Cost Optimization & Efficiency : Identifying areas for cost reduction and recommending cost-effective solutions to improve business processes and profitability
  • Decision Support : Providing valuable insights and recommendations to management and other departments to support strategic decision-making regarding pricing, resource allocation, and operational efficiency.
  • System Development and Maintenance : Developing and maintaining the cost accounting system (Global Shop), documentation, and records, and optimizing the use of ERP systems.
  • Supervise and provide direction to accounting staff involved in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of transactional accounting tasks performed by the team.
  • Coordinate with the Controller and HR to conduct performance evaluations and ongoing development of accounting staff to ensure cross-training and process documentation to maintain operational continuity and reduce key-person risk while fostering a culture of accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) bachelors degree in accounting or related field. A minimum of five years increasing responsibilities in cost accounting, excellent computer skills, Excel, Crystal Report, ERP systems, data analysis. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Accurate and precise attention to detail, ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to create timely, concise reports and effectively present information to management and all levels of employees
  • Ability to apply mathematical skills in a logical manner to business problems. Ability to use ratios, percent and proportions in solving complex financial and accounting problems.
  • Must have good decision-making ability and leadership skills. Ability to apply common sense and to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form.
  • Must have above average computer skills in Excel, Crystal Reports and data analysis software
