Job Description

This southwest Georgia health system is seeking board certified / board eligible Thoracic Surgeon who wishes to start a new position in 2025.

Applicable candidates should have experience with :

• Large role in surgical oncology
• CABG, TAVR, Chest Tumor Surgery, Coronary Artery Disease, Heart Valve Repair, and Lung Resection.
• Interest in Lung Cases
• Call 1 : 3 Board Certified / Board Eligible
• Level 2 Trauma Center

Fiscal Year 2021 (August 2020 – July 2021) 305 cases :

18 TAVRs, 143 CABGs, and 9 Mitral Valve repair-replace just to name a few. With COVID it affected many of our services lines and surgical procedures.

Fiscal Year 2022 (August 2021 – July 2022) – 315 cases

CABG- 151 cases

Mediastinoscopy- 8

Pacemaker insertion and change out- 46

Pericardial window-5

Mitral valve repair- 3, replace-5

Tricuspid valve repair- 2

Aortic valve replace-8, root- 2

Thoracoscopy- 4, with biopsy- 3

Thoracotomy-11, with decortication- 12

Thymectomy- 4
