Overview : This role involves delivering patient care and transportation services at the paramedic level, adhering to state certification and local medical protocols. The position supports a busy advanced life support ambulance service, providing emergency, non-emergency, convalescent, and long-distance transport across a regional area in the Southeastern United States.
Responsibilities : Accurately document patient care records, including billing information and signatures. Perform rescue duties independently or with a crew under supervision. Meet specific performance standards in a demanding workload environment. Operate emergency vehicles safely and efficiently, responding to various emergency situations.
Education & Certifications : Must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within six months of hire. Completion of NIMS 100, 200, and 700 courses is required. Maintain all certifications continuously while employed.
Experience : At least one year of field EMS, rescue, or related experience preferred. Knowledge of emergency medical procedures, rescue techniques, hazardous materials incidents, and pre-hospital care equipment is essential. Familiarity with regional geography, including major streets, landmarks, and healthcare facilities, is expected within six months of employment.
Requirements : Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record and a minimum of three years licensed driving experience. Ability to work calmly under stress, communicate compassionately with patients and families, and collaborate effectively with healthcare personnel. Physical ability to lift and move up to 150 pounds regularly, navigate confined spaces, and perform emergency vehicle operations.
