Sr. Controls Engineer
Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement process automation control systems.
- Program PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred; Siemens, Modicon, and Emerson experience a plus).
- Develop and configure SCADA / HMI applications (Ignition, Rockwell Software, AVEVA, WinCC).
- Specify, configure, and commission instrumentation and motor control circuits.
- Lead or support system commissioning and field start-ups.
- Configure and maintain OT infrastructure (Hypervisors, VMs, SQL databases, backup solutions).
- Configure and maintain industrial networks (Ethernet / IP, Modbus, Profibus).
- Deploy and troubleshoot networking equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, cellular modems).
- Ensure OT / IT network security and integration with enterprise systems.
- Prepare submittals, system documentation, and detailed design specifications.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for control loops, instrumentation, and SCADA systems.
- Interface directly with customers for training, support, and project updates.
Qualifications
BS in Electrical, Controls, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent technical training with hands-on experience.5+ years of experience in systems integration, controls engineering, or OT / IT roles.Proficiency in PLC programming (primarily Allen-Bradley RSLogix / Studio 5000).Proficiency in HMI / SCADA development (primarily Ignition, AVEVA, FactoryTalk View).Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (Ethernet / IP, Modbus, Profibus).Experience configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs).Familiarity with virtualization platforms.Strong troubleshooting skills for digital / analog circuits, instrumentation, and motor controls.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer-facing roles.Preferred Qualifications
PlantPax programming experience.Recognized networking certification.Familiarity with UL508A / 698A standards and electrical panel design.Experience with 2D electrical CAD software.Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity best practices.Exposure to projects across multiple industries (water / wastewater, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, utilities).Experience managing project scope, cost, and schedule.Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, and change order processes.Benefits
