Job description

Hartwig is one of the nation's leading CNC machine tool distributors. The customers we serve are in a variety of industries and rely on the Hartwig team to make sure their machines are running at an optimal level. This position contributes to the success of Hartwig by g enerating opportunities and earning profitable sales while focusing on CNC machine preventive maintenance orders and aftermarket products within their assigned territory.

This opportunity is perfect for someone who has mechanical experience and looking to expand their sales skill set. This position starts at $50,000 annually, plus good commission potential. Position will be open for 45 days from original posting. Ideal candidate will live in the Denver, CO area.

Responsibilities of this role :

  • Identifies sales opportunities by understanding customer needs; calls on and schedules meetings with current and prospective customers; acts as the central knowledge base for machine tool optimization offerings
  • Primary focus is on service sales and PM (preventive maintenance) visits (80% of the time). The secondary focus is on other options such as vibration analysis, ball bar testing & general maintenance to keep customer machines running to factory specifications
  • Sells upgrades and add-ons to enhance the machine tool, such as LED lighting, surge protectors and preventive maintenance kits
  • Organizes work and plans activities for the most effective coverage of assigned territory by scheduling PM service technicians to cover the sold PMs and works with the local service manager to keep the technician effectively engaged in daily activities
  • Prepares and generates quotations; enters orders based on established procedures; c reates work orders; schedules all work to be performed
  • Ensures oils, filters, and any parts needed to complete the job are available
  • Acts on and resolves customer issues promptly and professionally
  • Follows up on customer satisfaction with surveys and occasional in person visits
  • Documents the activities for sales opportunities based on established process
  • Travel up to 40% in assigned territory

Qualifying Skills :

  • Commercial or industrial equipment experience or relevant sales experience
  • Previous experience with machine tool service is helpful
  • Technical knowledge of service products with ability to educate customers in a professional and persuasive manner in order to sell solutions that support optimization
  • Previous experience developing sales territory and the ability to "close" the sale is helpful
  • Balanced temperament in stressful situations
  • Valid driver's license that allows insurability with the ability to visit customer locations required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software required
  • Time management, strong organizational skills, positive customer service attitude, and strong verbal and written communications skills required
