Primary responsibility is direct support to students with special needsParticipate in activities planned by the after-school program staffAssists in the preparation and development of instructional training activities and materialsAssists the after-school program staff with in-class activities based on specific instructionsAssists the after-school program staff in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom environment by keeping materials and equipment organizedAssists the after-school program staff in maintaining a good learning atmosphere by using effective teaching and behavior management techniquesUnder direct supervision of the after-school program, staff may assist with assessing student needsProvides the after-school program staff with general impressions and observations of students they work withWorks with students individually, in small groups, whole groups or learning centers planned by the after-school program staff and provides instruction to studentMay assist with classroom technology, adaptive devices, and equipmentAssists with social skillsAssists with toileting, diapering, dressing, and hygieneKeeps an organized and clutter-free restroom and / or changing areaAdministers emergency treatment when necessaryMay take children into the communityMay assist children to feed themselvesMay be assigned in more than one after-school program locationAssists with playground supervisionWorks cooperatively with students, after-school program staff, district staff, and administration while performing assigned duties and responsibilitiesReinforces lessons / activities with small groups of learnersAssists after-school program staff in crisis intervention and disciplineParticipates in program planning meetings at the request of the after-school program staffPerforms other job-related work as requiredQualifications : Ability to :
