Job Description This posting is to establish a pool of qualified applicants positions for Adjunct Art History. Crafton Hills College is a designated Hispanic Serving Institution with a majority of our students identifying themselves as either African American/Black or Latinx. We are seeking individuals to join our History Department team that are fully committed to transformational, culturally responsive education in a collegial and collaborative student-centered environment.
Position Summary: Crafton Hills College is seeking qualified part-time instructors to join our Art History adjunct pool. Adjunct faculty are employed on a semester-by-semester basis and may be assigned to teach day, evening, or online courses at any of the college's instructional sites.
Representative Duties: - Teach lower-division courses in Art History, which may include but are not limited to:
- Survey of Western Art (Prehistoric through Medieval and/or Renaissance to Modern)
- Non-Western Art Traditions
- Contemporary Art
- Introduction to Art
- Develop and deliver course content that meets department and accreditation standards
- Employ diverse teaching strategies to meet the learning needs of a diverse student population
- Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter area
- Assess student learning outcomes and provide timely feedback
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: - Master's in art history, history of art and architecture or visual culture/visual studies
OR - Bachelor's in art history and master's in history
OR - Master's in art with a recorded emphasis or concentration in art history
OR the equivalent.

- Experience that indicates a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical and learning disabilities.

Part-time faculty are employed on a semester-by-semester basis, in assignments that are temporary in nature, contingent on enrollment and funding, subject to program changes, and without assurance of continued employment.
