Job Description Summary

ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY
Chicago State University (CSU), founded in 1867, is the oldest public university in the Chicago Metropolitan area. Chicago State University invites applications for a 9 month tenure track position in the Department of Occupational Therapy. There is currently a combined Bachelor in Health Sciences and Master of Occupational Therapy program that has 10 years accreditation from the American Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE). The responsibilities for the position include teaching in areas of expertise, student supervision in research and/or fieldwork, student advisement, independent scholarship and participation in university and professional service activities.

Required Education

All applicants must have a post professional-doctorate in in OT or a related degree. Candidates with ABD status in a doctoral program will be considered.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

A minimum of five years of clinical practice required and teaching experience preferred. Clinical expertise in the areas of pediatrics and community practice preferred. Candidates must be able to work in a team teaching model and service-learning environment. Experience in using active teaching approaches is desirable. Experience in mentoring and working with students from diverse backgrounds is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Special Requirements

Current certification with NBCOT and an active license or license eligible as an occupational therapist in the State of Illinois. Must submit transcripts at point of hiring.
