In this role, you will work under the supervision of the Nurse Manager while applying your nursing knowledge and skills independently to manage critical clinical situations.\n\nYou will be part of a dynamic team on a full-time or part-time basis, requiring weekend shifts from Friday at 7 : 00 PM through Monday at 7 : 30 AM.\n\nIncentives\n\nThis position offers an enticing sign-on bonus of $15,000 for external candidates. Join us in making a difference!\n\nAbout Our Unit\n\nPrisma Health Richland Hospital houses a regional academic medical center with over 125 years of expert care in Columbia. Our 7 East Surgical Trauma Unit specializes in treating adult patients who require care following traumatic injuries, including those necessitating surgical intervention. We maintain a 30-bed capacity and uphold a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 4, flexing up to 1 : 5 based on needs.\n\nOur patients may include individuals suffering from serious injuries such as gunshot wounds, assault-related injuries, motor vehicle crashes, and falls. We are equipped with telemetry monitoring for select patients, ensuring the highest level of care and oversight.\n\nEssential Responsibilities\n

- Collect and analyze patient data, identifying problems and establishing priorities based on unit standards.\n
- Develop and implement a comprehensive care plan, collaborating with the patient / family and multidisciplinary teams.\n
- Provide high-quality patient care based on accepted practices and standards while being prepared to manage emergency situations independently.\n
- Document care and outcomes accurately, evaluating and adjusting interventions as needed to enhance patient safety and quality.\n
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with safety standards and policies.\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\n\nThis is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.\n\nMinimum Requirements\n
- Education : Associate degree in Nursing, with a Bachelor's degree preferred.\n
- Experience : At least one year of nursing experience.\n\nAlternate Qualifications\n
- Completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program or an equivalent residency program will be accepted in lieu of one year of experience.\n
- One year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) may also be considered.\n\nLicensure Requirements\n
- Current South Carolina Registered Nurse license is required.\n\nKnowledge and Skills\n
