Physician (MD / DO) – Neurosurgery | $4,000–$4,500 / Day | Locum Tenens | Minot, ND

Location : Minot, ND

Pay Rate : $4,000–$4,500 per 24-hour call shift (flexible and negotiable based on experience; includes 2–6 gratis hours)

Schedule : 24-hour call coverage | 1 week per month

Contract Length : Locum Tenens (January 5, 2026 – December 31, 2026; earlier start considered)

Setting : Level II Trauma Center

Employment Type : Full-Time On-Site Contract

Job Overview

A respected Level II Trauma Center in Minot, ND is seeking an experienced Neurosurgeon (MD or DO) for a long-term locum tenens assignment. This role offers competitive daily pay, consistent monthly scheduling, and the opportunity to manage a wide range of cranial and spine cases in a collaborative hospital environment.

Ideal candidates demonstrate strong surgical judgment, advanced clinical expertise, and confidence handling trauma and non-trauma neurosurgical cases in a high-acuity setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide full neurosurgical call coverage during assigned weeks
  • Perform inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical consults
  • Manage trauma and non-trauma cranial and spine cases
  • Perform surgical interventions appropriate to candidate training and experience
  • Collaborate with onsite neurosurgeons, trauma teams, and clinical staff
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR
  • Support hospital safety, quality, and compliance standards

Position Details

Schedule : 24-hour call | One week per month

Environment : Level II Trauma Center with broad neurosurgical case mix

Call : Full call coverage with $500–$550 callback (flexible and negotiable)

Team Structure : Collaborative neurosurgery, trauma, and advanced practice team

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS)
  • Active medical license; IMLC accepted with active LOQ
  • Strong neurosurgical call experience in trauma-designated hospitals
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR
  • Ability to manage high-acuity cranial and spine pathology
  • Preferred

  • Recent high-volume call rotation experience
  • Experience with both cranial and spine surgical interventions
  • Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
