The General Maintenance Technician I performs basic services and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, interior finishes, and appliance servicing. This position will be responsible for daily cleanup throughout the entire property regarding groundskeeping. Must be able to identify basic maintenance defects for repair. This position will also require working as part of a team and carrying out tasks as assigned by the leader.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS
Works in a team environment in a primarily response role to complete inspections, repairs, preparation of guest units, and at times, grounds upkeep. Assist guests and staff in the resolution of unit and facility maintenance concerns, complaints, and questionsAssist maintenance and housekeeping teams in the preparation of the property for guestsPerform general maintenance duties and groundskeeping as assigned by the manager or supervisorMaintain accurate records of units serviced and work performedEDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GEDGroundskeeping or landscaping experience is highly preferredA combination of six months of facility and / or building / construction maintenance experience and / or vocational training is preferred; however, this is an entry-level role within the maintenance departmentBilingual a plusQUALIFICATIONS
Have the ability to perform skilled work in basic general maintenance and groundskeepingAbility to learn skills in painting, tile, plumbing, carpentry, and electricalMust be able to problem-solve and participate in troubleshooting major appliancesMust know hand and power tools, and have a mechanical aptitudeMust be able to provide excellent face-to-face guest communicationMust be able to follow written instructions and complete documentation associated with unit maintenanceMust have basic problem-solving skillsAt Holiday Inn Club Vacations, we believe in strengthening families.
