Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Neuro

Schedule

This position operates on a day shift schedule, consisting of 3 twelve-hour shifts from 06 : 45 to 19 : 15. Travelers are required to work every other weekend and will float to other Med / Surg and Tele areas as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Neuro to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Med / Surg nursing, particularly in managing patients with diverse neuroscience diagnoses, including strokes and seizures. The nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to our patients while ensuring adherence to hospital protocols and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for adult and geriatric patients on a Neuroscience unit.
  • Monitor and manage patients with neurological conditions such as CVA, intracranial bleeds, and seizures.
  • Administer medications and treatments, including IV therapy and blood product administration.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of direct Med / Surg experience.
  • Candidate must have completed at least 2 successful travel assignments prior to applying.
  • Current ACLS (preferred), BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
