Position Summary

The Inpatient Phlebotomist plays a critical role in delivering excellent care by performing phlebotomy on inpatients of all ages, including infants and adolescents. Your focus will be on promoting positive interactions with patients and working collaboratively with hospital staff to conduct laboratory tests that inform medical diagnoses and treatment plans.

Essential Functions

As an Inpatient Phlebotomist, you will :

  • Promote Williamson Health's mission and values in all aspects of your role.
  • Engage professionally with laboratory management, staff, and healthcare colleagues.
  • Ensure patient safety and comply with all laboratory protocols and safety regulations.
  • Accurately identify patients and document specimens using established procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of policies and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in training new team members as needed.
  • Adapt to support other lab areas as required.
  • Position Requirements

    To qualify for this position, you should possess :

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy training or experience; certification is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience with laboratory equipment.
  • A commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Physical and Environmental Requirements

    This role requires :

  • Exposure to blood and body fluids, infectious materials, and chemicals.
  • The ability to perform tasks that may require lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Frequent mobility, including bending, stooping, and prolonged standing.
  • Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules and additional hours when necessary.
