Description

The Department for Medicaid Services (DMS) provides health care access for eligible low-income residents ofKentucky including children, families, pregnant women, the aged and the disabled as well as a number ofprograms and services directed at specific eligibility and medical needs. If you have a passion for helping others, the Kentucky Department for Medicaid Services (DMS) wants you tojoin Team Medicaid. The Division of Health Care Policy (DHCP), Physical Health Branch, is hiring aMedicaid / Medicare Services Specialist II to provide support to the Division. The Physical Health Branch isresponsible for developing regulations, interpreting policies, establishing fee schedules, and providingsupport to providers. This individual will work closely with management and internal staff related to theagencies business operations, as well as host Technical Advisory Committee meetings.

• Assistance to Providers, Recipients, Technical Advisory Committee's (TAC), Medicaid Advisory Committee(MAC), Professional Associations, Beneficiary Advisory Councils (BAC), and Government Agencies by respondingto inquiries and hosting meetings virtually and / or in person.
• Assists with writing and reviewing State Plan Amendments (SPA's) to ensure timely and accurate submissionto the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
• Monitors state and federal Medicaid regulations and policies for changes and additions and communicatesfindings to DMS leadership for evaluation.
• Coordinates the activities of various Medicaid Committees ensuring agendas are received and shared withthe Department staff.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION : Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS : Two years of experience in Medicaid or Medicare program administration, health insurance administration / systems, eligibility systems, health care research, health care planning, health care financial management, health care policy development, human service or health care administration, insurance billing and / or claims, or research, review, and analysis of legislation or regulations.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE : NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION : Experience in the above fields will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
