Job Purpose
The Estimator plays a critical role in our organization by accurately estimating costs for various electrical construction projects. Through meticulous analysis of project technical requirements, this role ensures that cost estimates are comprehensive, transparent, and aligned with project objectives. The Estimator collaborates closely with project stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making and successful project execution.
What You'll Do
- Scope & Inputs : Review plans / specs and clarify requirements and assumptions with stakeholders.
- Takeoffs & Estimating : Perform quantity takeoffs and build cost estimates (materials, labor, equipment, overhead) using estimating software and maintained cost databases.
- Pricing & Procurement : Source and evaluate vendor / subcontractor quotes; negotiate pricing and terms.
- Risk & Value : Identify risks, incorporate contingencies, and propose value-engineering or alternative methods to meet technical needs cost-effectively.
- Proposals & Bids : Prepare complete estimates and bid packages with clear methodologies, breakdowns, and qualifications.
- Quality Control : Ensure accuracy, consistency, and auditability of all estimating deliverables.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).4-7 years of experience in electrical in electrical construction estimating.Proficiency in cost estimation methodologies, tools, and quantitative analysis, including probabilistic modeling for risk assessment.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to interpret technical drawings, identify cost drivers, and analyze complex data to draw meaningful insights.Effective communication and interpersonal skills for conveying technical information, facilitating discussions, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.Flexibility and adaptability to evolving project scopes, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Commitment to continuous learning, industry trend awareness, and upholding ethical standards in all activities.Ability to lead, mentor, and contribute to a collaborative team environment while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.Solid understanding of project management principles, industry standards, and applicable regulations for cost estimation.Benefits
