Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in a Level I Trauma Center, with Epic experience and trauma background required.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma, teaching hospital
  • Patient population includes trauma, acute stroke, STEMI, psychological emergencies, sepsis, and patients with alcohol / drug abuse or complex medical history
  • Typical nurse to patient ratios are 1 : 3-4
  • Shifts are 3x12 nights, either 1700-0530 or 1900-0730, including weekends
  • Floating required within the hospital, no floating to sister hospitals
  • Uses Epic for charting
  • Duties include assessment, intervention planning, and provision of procedures such as moderate / deep sedation, ultrasound, intubation, cardioversion, D&C’s, sexual assault exams, CPR, and imminent deliveries
  • No accommodation for block scheduling
  • No call requirements
  • Scrubs with no prints; provided in some areas such as OR
  • Module completion required pre-start; average 3.75 hours for RN modules
  • One week maximum for requested time off
  • Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • First-time travelers are not accepted; 1 year of travel experience required if Epic experience is recent
  • Holiday and weekend coverage required

  • Active OR RN license required or pending application with licensing board
  • Epic charting experience and trauma care experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ED RN experience required
  • Experience in a Level I Trauma setting preferred
  • Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS; TNCC preferred
  • COVID-19 vaccination proof required, no exemptions allowed
  • Two supervisor references from the past 24 months required (strict reference guidelines apply)
  • Return staff must not have worked at the facility in the last 6 months
