Warehouse Manager

Our client, a family-owned company specializing in the distribution of fertilizer, chemicals, grass seeds, and ice melt products, is seeking a warehouse manager. They have a strong commitment to customer service and reliable delivery, and pride themselves on maintaining a close-knit team environment while managing high-volume, seasonal business demands.

Position overview : The warehouse manager will be responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, managing personnel, maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring smooth workflow between multiple facilities. This hands-on role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, seasonal environment.

Key responsibilities :

  • Manage and lead warehouse personnel to ensure efficient operations.
  • Oversee inventory management, tracking, and optimization for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Handle receiving and unloading of products from vendors.
  • Coordinate and schedule product deliveries to customers, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
  • Manage warehouse transfers and communication between multiple locations.
  • Track and coordinate fleet maintenance, ensuring compliance and safety.
  • Maintain building and warehouse facilities.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed.
  • Utilize and manage ERP system for inventory, ordering, and workflow tracking.
  • Effectively manage high-volume, seasonal demand periods to ensure operational success.
  • Monitor and place product orders as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum 23 years of warehouse management experience.
  • Prior experience managing warehouse personnel.
  • Knowledge of fleet management and maintenance coordination.
  • Forklift operation skills (certification preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments.
  • Mechanical aptitude for equipment and facility-related issues.
  • Proactive, self-starter with minimal need for oversight.
  • Preferred skills (nice to have) :

  • Bilingual communication skills.
  • Experience with building maintenance.
  • Background in warehouse inventory optimization and organization.
