As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for preparing patient charts for upcoming appointments, taking vital signs, performing patient intake as directed, and assisting them during office hours to ensure patients receive prompt, efficient, and courteous care.
Responsibilities :
Completes chart prep 24-48 hours prior to patient appointment to ensure chart is complete with notes, pathology report, test results, medications, allergies, etc.Timely and accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)Assist surgeons in mini OR with minor surgical procedures that require knowledge of sterile procedure and autoclaving instrumentsMaintain confidentiality of all current and former patients / charts as required by clinic policy and governing lawsFollow proper protocol for securing workstation when walking awayDocument in the EMR using only your assigned loginEscorts patients to exam room, obtain vitals, updates patient history, reconciles medications, allergies, and any required quality dataProvides patient with orders, education and medication instructions as directed by ProviderCleans and prepares exam rooms for each patientEmpties hazardous waste receptacles when fullIdentify and properly label all specimen tubes for testingFollows up on Electronic Medical Record documents routed to him / her by the ProvidersAccurately and efficiently respond to tasks received from providers and other office staffMust adhere to policies, procedures and regulations as outlined in the office policy and procedures manualInteract with fellow workers in a way that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environmentBe expected to utilize spare time in work related activities which contribute to the clinic's needsMay intercept patient phone calls regarding clinical issuesStocks exam rooms with medical supplies, as necessaryAttends meetings as requiredPerforms other related duties as assigned or requestedEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Preferred Successful completion of an accredited medical office assistant education programOR
High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time clinical medical assistant and phlebotomy experience1 year experienceCERTIFICATIONS /
LICENSES
BLS Certification is requiredMedical Assistant Certification preferredRequirements
