Shift : 3x12-hour day shifts (06 : 00 – 18 : 30)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1630-$1750

Setting : PACU / Pre-Op (Float required between PreOp & PACU)

Unit Size : 21 beds, daily census ~30

Patient Population : Adults, adolescents, and occasional pediatric patients (age 6+)

Scrub Color : Navy (not provided)

Charting System : Cerner

Flu Vaccine : Required (no exemptions)

PACU RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or compact state

Minimum 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience

Previous charge nurse experience required

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS (all required)

Ability to float between PreOp and PACU units

Experience with Cerner electronic charting preferred

Two supervisor references required

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures

Float between PreOp and PACU units as needed

Serve as charge nurse, supporting and guiding healthcare staff

Monitor and manage pain, airway, and hemodynamic status of post-operative patients

Care for diverse surgical cases : orthopedic, vascular, spine, and general surgeries

Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform thorough patient assessments

Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams : physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner charting system
