Technician, Fire Suppression Lead- Licensed
Tessera is seeking a licensed Lead Fire Suppression Technician to oversee inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinklers and suppression systems at WSBOSC. You will ensure code compliance, diagnose and resolve system issues, and maintain accurate records. In addition, you'll provide training and guidance to technicians while upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Typical duties include but are not limited to :
- Inspects and tests various types of fire pumps, including diesel and electric motors.
- Performs minor repairs and maintenance services as outlined in established manufacturer technical manuals.
- Performs major repair and diagnosis of inspection of water system components related to the fire protection system.
- Maintains required work, time, material, and equipment maintenance records to update equipment service workbook and daily task sheets consistent with current contract requirements.
- Accurately determines needed repair parts and generates parts request.
- Responsible for leading, training, mentoring, and providing technical assistance to technicians.
- Interprets code requirements during installations, repairs, and maintenance.
- Interprets manuals and instructions as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains proper sizing, alignment, supports, and grading.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains environmental protection requirements.
- Maintains preventive maintenance and repair records.
- This position may be subject to call-back availability based on operational needs.
Qualifications :
Highschool Diploma / GED is required.5-8 years' experience in fire protection technology or a related field is preferred.An equivalent combination of experience and education can be considered.Knowledge of local fire codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.Working knowledge of sprinkler controls, alarm panels, devices, and critical components required.Must be able to read, understand, and follow manufacturer technical manuals, lubrication instructions, and water schematics to ensure proper diagnosis and repair during annual inspections.Physical Requirements :
Must be able to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.Requirements :
A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
