The purpose of this class is to assume responsibility for general management functions of CCBC's Special Collections & Archives repository website.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as sociology, anthropology, history, library science, computer science, etc. preferred, along with one (1) year of full-time experience working with collection management or exhibits in a library, archives, or cultural heritage organization.
- Knowledge of archival and library description standards, including DACS, EAD, MARC, and LC.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office software including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and develop cooperative relationships.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Essential Duties :
Manage and direct operations of the library's Special Collections and Archives website under the direction of the Collection Development Coordinator.Develop and administer policies and procedures for the content management system.Train, supervise, and evaluate part-time staff, volunteers, and interns.Process, file, and organize collection materials, including labeling items, folders, and containers.Manage supplies for processing Special Collections and monitor supply budget.Oversee physical storage of Archives Collections.Coordinate with other departments to enhance repository holdings.Physically accession and deaccession items, including photography, condition reporting, rehousing, and storage.Operate scanning and photography equipment for digitization and metadata creation for preservation.Assist in exhibition and display of materials.Conduct collection inventories and maintenance according to professional standards.Research collection provenance, processes, creators, authenticity, and related data.Note : Duties are examples and not exhaustive; other duties may be assigned.
